Whisky Before Breakfast

Jonathan and Rob are father and son duo who have been playing together at folk sessions and various events concerts for over eleven years.

Andy has been performing with Jonathan and Rob since 2009. After a chance meeting at Open Session in Horncastle and was invited to
join the then band Jaks, which changed to The Bullring Band to play on St Patricks night. Also in that same year being asked to perform at the Local Eco Festival at Badgers Farm.

The past few years they have played together at local folk sessions, charity and other music events. As well as some street entertainment for both local Summer and Xmas Fayres. Occasionally as a duo with Jonathan and Andy, while Rob was away at Uni. The bands name was dropped during this period.

In 2012 we were invited by Louth music group “Allegro Appassionato” to perform at one of their Wednesday afternoon performances 21st March 2012 we needed a name. So we decided to name ourselves after an Old time folk tune that we perform. Hence “Whisky Before Breakfast” was born.

2013 saw WBB joined by Bev Morris guitar player for a short while until he went to Uni in Newcastle. During the later part of this year vocals were being considered to add to the band.
And first performed at Louth Town & Country Club joined once again by Rob.

2014 Whisky Before Breakfast went through some changes, due to Jonathans current family illness. By adding vocals (Andy) and a New Band Members line up,Patrick Purves & Dave Broome.
Made there debut at Spirit of the Marsh Festival.

In June 2014 due to other commitments Dave Broome left the band.

The call went out once again and we have been joined by two excellent musicians. Nick O,Farrell (guitar & various stringed instruments vocals) And Fiona Radford (Flute/Recorder/ various woodwind/ vocals)

After a succesful 6 months with several gigs under the bands belt and a avid local following plans were afoot to record a Live Cd Album in 2015.
