Queen of the May

The Maiden Goddess of Spring, flower bride, Queen of the May, The Lady of Flowers. She stands for purity strength and the potential for growth.

The May Queen begins the May Day celebrations. The May Queen is crowned by flowers.
So we are bringing the May Queen into our Spirit of The Marsh ceremonies. The May Queen will need attendants.

There will be one big ceremony on the Saturday this is to make sure everyone has arrived at camp and can join in. On Saturday morning there will be workshops in headdress making, mask making, drum and voice all leading towards taking part in the afternoon ceremony. The children are encouraged to paint masks make flower garlands and be part of the day.

Every one is encouraged to place a tea light or ribbon on the four quarters which will have branches like trees, whichever you are drawn to.
